I’m obsessed with the topic of running right now and I think it’s about time I started blogging about it. I am having trouble keeping all of this in my head and I don’t want to weigh my Dailymile workout reports down too much.

I have a bunch of races that I should update for this blog, and several more in the coming months, not to mention the Pasadena Half, Disney Princess Half (in Orlando!), and the Los Angeles Marathon.

I also have some training plans and workouts that I want to squirrel away on here… mostly so I can refer back and keep myself focused.

I finally calendered my marathon training plan for instance - using the Hal Higdon Novice Marathon training guide. It will start off nice and easy, which is appropriate since I am recovering from the flu anyway. I’m looking forward to a gradual improvement. I know I can do 13 miles since I completed the half in September, BUT I think I got there in about one month, so just because I can do it doesn’t mean that I should… I don’t think.

I think I’m coming up to the end of my current shoe’s life… 250 miles, and usually they last about 300-500. I know it’s on the lower end of the lifespan, but I want to see if a new shoe would help some of my knee twinges subside. I think a new pair of shoes will last through the training, and then there will be a few weeks to break in a new shoe. Either that or I can buy two and alternate.
